Cara began her design career in Chicago in 2003. She started in textbook publishing at McGraw-Hill in January of 2004, where she spent four years designing higher education textbook covers and interiors, and advancing from Design Coordinator to Senior Designer. Five months prior to starting at McGraw-Hill she embarked on her part-time freelance design career, going door-to-door to local businesses on Lincoln Avenue, offering any needed design work, and securing her first long-term client. Since then, she has completed design and management on over 100 books at McGraw-Hill, and gained numerous additional clients, as she began to freelance full-time in January of 2008. Throughout the past several years, Cara has created book designs, brochures, menus, posters, packaging, and more, along with giving expert design consulting. She also works with numerous individual clients on custom announcements, wedding invitations (www.cddcustom.com), and more. Designs are unique and detailed and the turnaround is always quick. Working on a project with cara david DESIGN has the benefit of a greater value within your budget, and more specialized attention every step of the way. Cara is also passionate about giving back and helping when she can. She has been a weekly volunteer and art teacher at local after-school programs and is proud to donate 10% of all cdd profits to the Chicago community, and to other local and international charities. |
